Although we have our own reasons for doing this walk and we are not specifically doing this as a charity walk. We all feel that we would like to somehow help towards something larger than us. We thought a lot about which charities we could support and believe me there are so many that deserve it.

In the end we decided on Greenpeace as we felt their tenacity towards fighting for freedom of the oppressed and for the wonderful environment was worth supporting.

As our journey holds its roots in the coexistence with the outdoors and environment we felt that our story aligned itself with the ideals and principles Greenpeace fights to uphold.

Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice.  It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action.

Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace.

Greenpeace are working to end the forest fire crisis in Indonesia by fighting for long-term solutions to prevent another fire disaster from ever happening again.  They are calling for an end to deforestation and for real protection of the forests and the peatlands.
